Dune bashing in the desert.
My British expat friend Bill took Stephen and me out to the inland sea in Qatar to go dune bashing when Stephen was visiting. I had gone out previously with Bill before Stephen came out to visit a few times.

Stephen’s sitting on my back little balcony after his long flight from Los Angeles to Doha, Qatar, where I lived while working there for 18 months. You can see the Gulf in the distance with aqua blue water.
That was my tomato plant that I had growing on my back deck.

Here we were at the Souq, having a water pipe smoke.

My fully furnished apartment on the Pearl, a man-made island created out of the Arabian Gulf, with brand new high-rise apartments with great views.

Outside of my brand new apartment building and the hallway on my floor. I was the first one to rent my unit and the building was maybe 25% occupied.
British Bill’s girlfriend invited a bunch of her girlfriends to come to Stephen’s going-back-home barbecue party that they arranged as a surprise held down by the pool at my apartment building.
